Where the veil between the physical and spiritual is thinnest and you can exist in the two worlds. It is where you experience God most directly.
My sister, Lynne, taught me about Thin Places recently. Her reaction to my piece called "Serenity" (which she named) was that it took her to a "thin place". I had never heard of this before so I researched it and I saw the connection to what I do immediately! When I work on a piece, my studio is a thin place where I am at peace and time kind of stands still. My Thin Places include Schiavi di Abruzzo, Bethany Beach, Sedona & the Grand Canyon and now I know why we keep returning! What several of my customers have expressed about what drew them to my paintings falls into the definition of a "thin place" too!
As we talked, my sister suggested I create a series based upon Thin Places so, which I thought was a great idea, so now I need your help to inspire me more.
